Combination Agent

An agent authorized to write or produce multiple insurance product lines through one agency structure.

A combination agent handles several insurance lines, for example personal, commercial, and risk-based covers, through one appointment model. The role is operationally broader than a specialist line agent.

Role in distribution

The agent coordinates quotes, underwriting packets, and premium collection across products. This can reduce client friction in renewal cycles but requires stronger workflow control.

Claims and service flow

Even when a claim is product-specific, combined servicing allows faster handoff and better policy reconciliation across policy numbers. Recordkeeping must be explicit by policy and line to avoid benefit conflicts.
